A tail light assembly carries the running, brake and turn signal functions in one housing. On many vehicles there is both an outer body-mounted lamp and an inner lid-mounted lamp, and the two are different parts — which is the most common reason an ordered tail light does not fit. LED assemblies cannot be substituted for bulb versions without changing how the vehicle checks for a failed lamp.

Common questions

Is this the outer or the inner tail light?
Many vehicles have both: an outer lamp mounted in the body panel and an inner one mounted on the boot lid or tailgate. They are separate parts, and ordering the wrong one is the single most common mistake with tail lights.
Can I fit an LED tail light in place of a bulb one?
Not reliably. Many vehicles detect a failed lamp by measuring current draw, and an LED unit draws far less, so the car reports a bulb-out fault or flashes the indicator rapidly unless the system is designed for it.
Are bulbs and sockets included?
Bulb-type assemblies are supplied with sockets fitted; whether the bulbs themselves are included varies by part and is stated in the listing.
