Monroe Shock Absorber Pair — Front
Monroe · SKU SAP-00051 · Our ref 58031
Shock absorbers control how the suspension settles after a bump. They are sold here as an axle pair because replacing only one leaves the car damping unevenly side to side. Worn shocks show up as a floating ride, nose dive under braking, or cupped tyre wear long before they leak visibly.
Supplied by Monroe.
In the box: 2 shock absorbers (one axle set); Mounting hardware where the application uses it.

Common questions
- Do shock absorbers come as a pair?
- These are sold as an axle pair, because replacing only one leaves the two sides of the car damping differently. That imbalance is most noticeable exactly when it matters — under hard braking or a sudden change of direction.
- How long do shock absorbers last?
- Commonly 50,000 to 100,000 miles, though they degrade gradually rather than failing outright. Because the decline is slow, most drivers do not notice how poor they have become until new ones are fitted.
- What is the difference between a shock absorber and a strut?
- A shock absorber only damps movement. A strut does that and is also a structural part of the suspension, carrying the spring and locating the top of the hub. They are not interchangeable.
