Mahle Electric A/C Compressor

An EV has no engine to drive a compressor and no waste heat to warm the cabin, so its air conditioning runs on high voltage and doubles as the heating system. The same loop also cools the battery, which is why an air conditioning fault on an EV can cost range as well as comfort.

HIGH VOLTAGE. This part connects to a 400V or 800V system. It must be fitted by a technician qualified to work on high-voltage vehicles, using insulated tools and rated gloves. Do not attempt it otherwise.
