Fuel Pump Module Assembly for the 2018–2024 Toyota Camry

What 2018–2024 Camry owners report about the fuel system

Owners have filed 91 complaints with NHTSA, the US federal vehicle-safety regulator, that mention the fuel pump on the 2018–2024 Toyota Camry, and 238 filed under its fuel system. Those 91, by model year, as of September 18, 2026:

• 2018 Camry: 42 complaints
• 2019 Camry: 28 complaints
• 2020 Camry: 19 complaints
• 2021 Camry: 2 complaints
• 2022 Camry: none
• 2023 Camry: none
• 2024 Camry: none

NHTSA publishes complaints as owners wrote them and does not verify them, so read them as a pattern rather than a diagnosis.

A 2018 Camry owner, NHTSA complaint 11643180: "There was a recall in 2022 for the fuel pump. The fuel pump was replaced by a local dealership in North Charleston, South Carolina. In December, the engine light of my 2018 Toyota Camry came on. It was diagnosed that the fuel pump needs to be replaced."

A 2019 Camry owner, NHTSA complaint 11751447: "My check engine and ICS sensor lights came on. My diagnostic shows a failing fuel pump exactly as recall 20TA02. My car is not on the recall list but is presenting the same issue. I was driving on the road when this occurred and my car started stalling and jerking on the road."

Which fuel pump module a 2018–2024 Camry takes

Modules differ by tank size, by engine, and between two- and four-wheel-drive versions that route the tank differently. The 2018–2024 Toyota Camry came with several powertrains, among them 2.5L I4 Automatic FWD, 2.5L I4 CVT FWD and 3.5L V6 Automatic FWD. That is why we ask for the VIN, or the year, engine and trim, and confirm the part against it before you pay rather than after it arrives.
