Accessibility

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Colour contrast, keyboard operation and screen-reader labelling are checked automatically on every change, and a build that fails those checks does not ship. Below is what has been tested, what has not, and how to reach a person if something does not work for you.

What is checked on every change

  • Every colour pair in the design system is tested against WCAG contrast ratios in both the light and dark themes. A pair below the threshold fails the build.
  • Automated axe-core testing runs against the site in both themes, including hover, focus and error states. Zero violations is the passing condition, not a target.
  • Forms are checked for programmatic labels, and errors are announced rather than only coloured.
  • Layout shift is measured, because content moving under a pointer or a magnifier is an accessibility problem before it is a performance one.

What that does not cover

  • Automated testing finds a minority of accessibility failures. It cannot tell whether a heading structure makes sense, whether alt text describes the right thing, or whether an interaction is understandable.
  • An independent audit by a third-party accessibility practice has not yet been carried out. When it has, its date and findings will be published here, including what was found and what remains open.
  • Product photography supplied by manufacturers may carry generic alternative text. We rewrite it as parts are reviewed, and it is not yet done for the whole catalogue.
  • Documents supplied by third parties — fitment sheets, warranty terms — are published as we receive them and may not be tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the content in another format.

If something does not work

Tell us and we will fix it, and we will help you get the part you need in the meantime — by phone, by email, or however suits you. You do not need to describe the problem in technical terms.

We aim to respond within one working day. If a barrier stops you completing a purchase, say so and we will complete it for you rather than asking you to wait for a fix.
