Garrett Variable Geometry Turbocharger

Almost every new engine is turbocharged, which moves the failure points from the block to the boost system. The turbo itself usually outlives the electronic actuator that controls it, and the oil feed lines that keep it alive are the cheapest part of the assembly and the one most often reused when it should not be.
