This set supplies one ignition coil and one spark plug per cylinder. They are bundled because a coil usually fails after being asked to fire a worn plug, so replacing a single coil often just moves the misfire to the next cylinder. Symptoms are a flashing check-engine light, a rough idle, or a stumble under acceleration.

- Should I replace all the ignition coils at once?
- On a vehicle with any mileage, generally yes. Coils age together and a failing one is often the result of firing a worn plug, so replacing a single coil frequently just moves the misfire to the next cylinder within months.
- What are the symptoms of a failing ignition coil?
- A rough idle, a stumble or hesitation under acceleration, poor fuel economy, and a check-engine light — flashing rather than steady if the misfire is severe enough to risk the catalytic converter.
- Are the spark plugs pre-gapped?
- Yes. Modern plugs are gapped at the factory and most iridium and platinum types should not be re-gapped by hand, because bending the fine centre electrode damages it. Check the gap rather than adjust it.
