Cardone Electric Parking Brake Caliper

The handbrake lever is gone and a motor on the caliper has replaced it, which means the caliper piston can no longer be wound back by hand. Servicing the rear brakes on these cars needs a scan tool to put the actuator into service mode first, and forcing it is how the motor gets destroyed.
